Grand Blanc Early College Application ~ Class of 2019 ~
Applications are now being accepted for the 2017/2018 academic year! Applications may be completed through this online process or students can obtain paper applications in the Career Resource Center at the east or west campus. Paper application are to be turned into the east main office.
Completed applications are due no later than Monday, December 19, 2016 at 3:00pm

Your completed application MUST include the following:
Completed Information Form - found in section 2 of this online application site.
Student Essays - It is expected that all essays are student written and submitted in a typed or electronic format.
2 Letters of Recommendation - recommendation requests (forms included in section 4 - downloads) completed by GBHS faculty, staff, or counselors. (If you prefer you may choose to have one of the recommendations completed by a community member or coach who is not a relative). *Recommendation forms should be sent directly to the high school to the attention of Dr. Hammond and therefore are not submitted with your application. Letters of recommendation will be matched to your application as they are received.Completed by the applicant and mailed directly to the high school.
Signed parent/student agreements - Signed documents must be turned into Dr. Hammond in the east main office (form included in section 4 - downloads).
A completed University of Michigan-Flint application for dual enrollment - Signed documents must be turned into Dr. Hammond in the east main office (form included in section 4 - downloads).
Students may be asked to participate in an interview with GBEC faculty. Formal consideration of applications and interviews will take place in the spring. Students will be selected for the GBEC using the following criteria: grade point average, transcript review, attendance, recommendation, application essays, test scores, and panel interview. Following interviews and application evaluations, students will be notified of their initial acceptance or non-acceptance into Grand Blanc Early College in early March. Final acceptance is processed through the university and will require successful completion of a writing assessment. GBEC will admit a maximum of 50 students from the Class of 2019, for the 2017-2018 school year.
We anticipate a record number of applications this year. Please be sure to get your completed applications in no later than 3:00pm on December 19, 2016. Questions regarding the Grand Blanc Early College or the application process should be directed to Janet Roberts at 810-591-6035.
